What is My Medicare?
My Medicare is a government intiative in repsonse to the Strenthening Medicare Taskforce of July 2022. It is a voluntary registration system for General Practice that aims to deliver stronger relationships between patients and their primary health care providers. Via MyMedicare patients can formally link to a practice providing greating continutiy of care and better coordination between your GP and other care providers.
My Medicare patients will have access to greater continuity of care, longer MBS funded telephone consults with their practitioner and may also be eligble for longer MBS teleheatlh consultations.

Register Online
To register online, follow the steps below:
- Sign in to myGov.
- Select Medicare.
- Select Register for MyMedicare, then Start.
- Under search for your practice, select Your practice, then Next. If you can’t find your practice, you’ll need to contact them to check if they’re registered for MyMedicare.
- Select Your preferred GP, then Next.
- Select Submit registration, then follow the prompts to complete your claim.
Register In Practice
Ask one of our team members for a registration form, complete and sign and we will process directly with Medicare for you.
Register using Express Plus Medicare Mobile App
To register using the app, follow the steps below:
- Log into the Medicare Express Medicare mobile app.
- Select Register for MyMedicare, then Start.
- Under search for your practice, select Your practice, then Next. If you can’t find your practice, you’ll need to contact them to check if they’re registered for MyMedicare.
- Select Your preferred GP, then Next.
- Select Submit registration, then follow the prompts to complete your claim.
